The “Danse Macabre,” also known as the “Dance of Death,” emerged from medieval plays and pagan folk rituals, intertwining itself within the annals of history. This morbid ballet portrays Death as a skeletal maestro, engaging in a dance with representatives of the social class hierarchy—Pope, emperor, king, lawyer, peasant—one by one, waltzing them away to their demise. It serves as a macabre reminder that neither lofty status nor humble origins can shield anyone from the inevitable grasp of death.

The story of ‘Argus with one hundred eyes’ is one among many Greek myths. Argus, a giant from Argolis in the Peloponnese, had a body adorned with 100 eyes and was believed to never sleep.
