Renenūtet was a goddess of nourishment and the harvest in ancient Egyptian religion.
Across mythological traditions the snake goddess in all her guises is a powerful and evocative image. Associated with fertility and sexuality, the image of the serpent is often symbolically associated with the renewal of life as it sheds its skin periodically.
At once beautiful, protective, seductive, and dangerous, the serpentine deity is depicted with a sturdy gaze and ample bosom. Sitting amongst stylised palms lashing out like razor blades, we can feel the magic of her life-giving breasts and celebrate her matriarchal power.
