EPIPHYLLUM BLACK BLOUSON JACKET
EPIPHYLLUM BLACK TENCEL BLOUSON JACKET LIMITED EDITION of 100
The rare and fleeting beauty of the tropical night-blooming cactus, is captured in this stylised white-line woodcut print.
FURTHER READING
Originating from the tropical rainforests of Mexico, the ‘Ric Rac cactus’ in its natural habitat grows as an Epiphyte (a plant that grows on another plant but isn’t parasitic) and in dense clusters, it cascades dramatically from tree branches. This plant is a member of the night-blooming cactus family, its large fragrant flowers open only at night and last for only one day.
As one of nature’s truly unique gifts, witnessing its flower is considered a sacred experience by most cultures including in India, where it is said to bring good fortune and prosperity to households. Among the Japanese, the epiphyllum flower is considered a symbol of beauty, and it is known as the Gekka Bijin... “Beauty under the moon.”
